Narvel Blackstock is an American music manager, television producer, and former steel guitar player, best known for his long-standing connection to the country music industry and his marriage to country superstar Reba McEntire.
Born on August 31, 1956, in Tarrant County, Texas, Narvel began his career as a steel guitar player. He played in Reba McEntire’s band in the 1980s before transitioning into management and production. Narvel co-founded Starstruck Entertainment with McEntire, managing her career and later representing other artists, including Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson.
Narvel was married to Elisa Gayle Ritter from 1973 to 1988, with whom he has three children: Brandon, Shawna, and Chassidy. In 1989, he married Reba McEntire, and they have one son together, Shelby Blackstock, born in 1990. Their marriage lasted 26 years before they divorced in 2015. Despite the divorce, McEntire has maintained a close relationship with her former stepchildren and considers them her grandchildren.
